About the treatment
Inverted nipples are a natural anatomical variation, but for many people they can affect self-confidence, body image, or cause practical discomfort. Surgery can correct the position of the nipple and create a more harmonious and natural appearance.
At Caolín, every treatment is individually tailored with a focus on natural results, high surgical precision, and a treatment journey where you feel safe and supported throughout.
Preliminary consultation
The process begins with a thorough consultation, where you meet your plastic surgeon in calm and reassuring surroundings. We take the time to understand your wishes, expectations, and the thoughts you have about the treatment.
Together, we assess the anatomy of the nipples, the quality of the skin, and the degree of inversion in order to plan the treatment best suited to you. We also review the available options, what you can expect from the result, and the important factors to consider before making your decision.
It is important to us that you feel safe, well informed, and met with both professional expertise and understanding throughout the entire process.
"Dr. Bo Sonnich Rasmussen at Caolín Clinic is one of the most competent surgeons I have ever met. He has operated on both me and several members of my family multiple times, and he consistently achieves excellent results. His professional expertise, combined with his warm and understanding approach, makes you feel completely at ease throughout the entire process."

Before the operation
Once your treatment plan has been established, we will guide you thoroughly through the entire preparation process leading up to the day of surgery. You will receive information about medication, supplements, smoking, and other factors that may affect safety, wound healing, and the final result.
Depending on the treatment, the procedure may be performed under local or general anaesthesia, and this will be planned together with the surgeon during your consultation. On the day of surgery, you should arrive in comfortable clothing, and our team will ensure that you feel calm, well informed, and fully prepared before the treatment begins.
During the operation
The surgery is performed with great precision and tailored to your individual anatomy. During the procedure, small incisions are made in the pigmented area around the nipple, where tight connective tissue structures or milk ducts are released so the nipple can achieve a more natural position.
To support the result and reduce the risk of the nipple retracting again, the tissue is carefully secured with fine sutures. Once the procedure is complete, a protective specialised dressing is applied to help the area heal in the desired position.
After the surgery
After the surgery, you can usually return home the same day. If the procedure has been performed under general anaesthesia, you will be monitored by our staff until you are ready to leave.
In the days following surgery, the area may be slightly swollen, tender, or bruised, which is a natural part of the healing process. In general, the procedure is associated with relatively little pain, but your body still needs time to rest during the initial recovery period.
It is important to avoid pressure on the nipples and limit strenuous physical activity during the first phase of recovery, so the tissue has the best possible conditions for healing. The result will develop gradually as the swelling subsides and the tissue stabilises.
You will be closely followed throughout the entire process, and we are always available if you have any questions along the way.
