The Caolín Signature Baby Lift is a surgical procedure that addresses the early signs of ageing in the upper part of the face. Over time, the skin naturally loses some of its firmness, and the deeper tissue of the face can begin to move downwards. This typically shows as drooping brows, a heavier forehead, lax areas around the temple and the outer corner of the eye, as well as a loss of fullness in the upper part of the cheeks. The procedure gives a discreetly lifted and fresh look in precisely these areas, without changing what makes your features unique.
At Caolín we work with several different facelift techniques, which are always tailored individually, with a focus on natural results, harmonious proportions and a fresher, more rested expression.
At a glance
The Babylift is Caolín's bespoke version of the endoscopic brow lift and upper facelift. It is a gentle technique that lifts and repositions the deeper tissue of the upper face through very small incisions in the hairline. It leaves no visible scars on the face. The procedure is most often combined with upper and lower eyelid surgery and discreet fat grafting to the face, for a complete, harmonious and natural result.
The Babylift differs from the classic deep plane facelift in that the Babylift focuses on the eye area and the cheekbones. The classic deep plane facelift lifts the tissue further down the face, between the cheekbone and the jawline.
The Babyfacelift addresses the changes that often appear earliest, and those that first give the face a tired or heavy look:
Lifted and repositioned to a natural, open position. A descending brow gives the face a sad or tired look. A lifted brow opens up the eyes and the face markedly.
The outer part of the eye area, which descends with age and gives a drooping look, is lifted and tightened.
The cheek tissue is lifted and repositioned, so that the youthful, rounded cheekbones are restored and the contour of the midface is improved.
Once the upper part of the cheek has been lifted, a small amount of excess skin can appear on the lower eyelids, if it is not already present. The Babylift is therefore often combined with lower eyelid surgery. This reduces bags and dark circles under the eyes for a fresher, more rested look in the eye area.
The result is a more open, welcoming, fresher and more youthful expression that is still you. Not a new face, but your own face, as it looked before.
Through two small incisions in the hairline on each side, a video endoscope and surgical instruments are inserted. This allows the surgeon to see and work precisely in the deeper tissue layers via live images on a screen, and without long, visible scars.
The technique therefore gives a precision and an overview that is not possible with traditional incisions, and it leaves no scars on the face itself. The incision in the hairline is discreet and is hidden naturally by the hair.
Once the tissue above the cheekbone has been lifted, a little excess skin often appears at the lower eyelids. If needed, this excess skin is removed with lower eyelid surgery, through a very fine incision just below the lashes.
As always, it is your anatomy and not your age that determines whether the procedure is the right one. Because the Babylift addresses the early changes and leaves no visible scars, it is a common procedure among younger patients too.
The Babylift is well suited to patients who experience changes in the upper face and who want an effective treatment with a shorter downtime and no visible scars. Typical changes the Babylift can treat:
You find that the brows have begun to droop, giving a heavier or more closed look to the eye area.
You have a drooping lateral (outer) corner of the eye, which gives a tired or downturned look to the eyes.
You miss the round, lifted cheek contour of a younger face.
You have bags or slightly loose skin under the eyes, which contributes to a tired look.

Good to know
Here you will find the whole process step by step — from consultation to the first weeks at home. If there is anything you cannot find an answer to, bring it up at your consultation.
The Babylift is frequently combined with other procedures for an even more complete and harmonious result:
− Fat grafting: Your own fat is injected into the temples, under the eyes or in the cheeks as needed, to restore lost volume and complement the effect of the lift with natural, soft fullness. A preferred combination at Caolín.
− Upper eyelid surgery: Removing excess skin from the upper eyelids combines naturally with the Babylift for a fully harmonious eye area.
− Facelift: For patients with changes in both the upper and lower face, the Babylift can be combined with a classic deep plane facelift or an endoscopic midface facelift. These facelifts lift the tissue further down the cheek and towards the jawline.
− Ablative CO2 laser: Improves skin texture and reduces fine lines and pigmentation. CO2 laser is a natural supplement to the surgical lift.
The recovery is shorter than for the classic deep plane facelift. For the first few days there will be swelling and discolouration, particularly around the eyes, which subsides gradually over 1–2 weeks.
− Time off work: A few days to 1 week.
− Socially presentable: Most people are ready after 14 days, once the swelling has subsided sufficiently.
− Sport and strenuous activity: Avoid for 4-6 weeks.
− Sun on the scars: No visible scars.
− Final result: Seen gradually over 3-6 months, as the swelling fully subsides and the tissue settles.
Many patients notice a clear and positive difference within the first few weeks, with a more open gaze, fresher contours and an expression that feels more in keeping with how they feel inside.
The Caolín Signature Babylift is a gentle and well-documented procedure with few serious complications. The most relevant are bleeding, infection, temporary swelling and discolouration and, in rare cases, asymmetry or temporary nerve effects. During the surgery, the sensory nerve to the forehead is identified and protected. Many people have altered sensation in the forehead immediately after the surgery, but it gradually returns to normal. A good distance is kept from the motor nerve to the forehead muscles, but some people experience temporarily reduced or increased activity of the muscles immediately after the surgery.
Every treatment journey at Caolín starts with a thorough, no-obligation consultation, where you meet your plastic surgeon and receive an honest assessment of whether the Babylift, or a combination of procedures, is right for you. We never tailor the treatment to a template, but always to your anatomy and your wishes.
You are welcome to bring someone with you, and you can always contact us with questions along the way.
The Babylift is an endoscopic procedure that lifts the upper face, the brows, the outer corner of the eye and the upper part of the cheeks through very small incisions in the hairline, with no visible scars on the face. The classic facelift primarily addresses the cheek and the jawline and leaves discreet scars along the ear. The two techniques complement each other and are frequently combined.
No, not on the face itself. The incision is placed in the hairline and is hidden naturally by the hair. The lower eyelid surgery is performed through a very fine incision just below the lashes of the lower eyelid, or transconjunctivally, that is from inside the mucous membrane of the eye, with no external scar at all.
Shorter. Most people are socially presentable after 10–14 days and back at work within a week. A classic facelift typically requires 2–3 weeks before you are ready for social situations.
Yes. The Babylift is suitable for all genders. At Caolín, the technique is tailored to the natural proportions of the face, and for men that means we always work with masculine features and expression as our starting point.
The result develops gradually over 3-6 months, as the swelling fully subsides and the tissue settles. Many people, however, experience a clear and positive difference within the first few weeks.
Lower eyelid surgery removes any bags and tightens loose skin under the eyes. When the skin above the cheekbone is lifted during the Babylift, excess skin often appears on the lower eyelids, and this is removed with lower eyelid surgery.
Botox relaxes the muscles and reduces the wrinkles that appear with facial expression, but it cannot lift and reposition sagging tissue and skin. Many people find that their need for Botox decreases once the brows have been lifted and the forehead muscles can relax more.
A Babylift lasts a long time, because the descended tissue is lifted in the deep tissue planes before it heals into its new position. The ageing process continues naturally, but from a lifted starting point. Smoking, unprotected sun exposure and fluctuating weight are the factors that have the greatest negative impact on skin ageing.
The process
The process starts with a thorough consultation with your plastic surgeon, where together you go through your wishes, your expectations and the areas of the face that you feel have changed over time.
Among other things, the surgeon assesses the elasticity of your skin, the volume of your face, the position of the tissue and your general anatomy, in order to recommend the technique that will give the most natural and harmonious result. At the same time, you will receive an honest review of the options, the limitations, scar placement, the healing process and the risks that are always associated with surgery. Together you draw up an individual plan for your treatment, so that you feel well informed and at ease before you make your decision.
Once your treatment plan is in place, we guide you thoroughly through all the preparations leading up to the day of surgery. You will receive information about medication, supplements, smoking, fasting and skin preparation, among other things, as these factors affect safety, healing and the final result.
On the day of surgery, you will be welcomed by our team, and you will meet the nurse, the anaesthetist and the surgeon. Before the surgery, the plan is reviewed one last time and the treatment areas are marked carefully, so that you feel completely at ease and well prepared.
You arrive at the clinic, are seen by the anaesthetist and have a conversation with your surgeon, who makes a thorough set of markings. The surgery is performed under general anaesthetic and typically takes 2–3 hours, depending on the extent and any combined procedures, and most people go home the same day.
With endoscopic techniques such as the Babylift, smaller incisions hidden in the hairline are used, and the surgeon works on the deeper tissue structures with great precision. The wounds are closed with fine sutures, and a dressing and compression are applied to protect the tissue in the first phase. With a classic facelift, the incisions are placed discreetly around the ear and, if necessary, in the hairline, to make the scars as discreet as possible. In some cases, a drain may be placed temporarily to support the healing process.
After the surgery, you will be monitored by our staff in the recovery room until you are ready to go home or, if necessary, stay overnight, depending on the extent of the surgery. After the surgery, you will have surgical tape on the forehead and over the cheekbones, as well as a headband, for approximately 10 days.
It is normal to experience swelling, tightness, discolouration and tiredness in the first few days. The early period calls for rest and patience, as the tissue gradually settles into its new position. We recommend that you keep your head slightly raised and avoid heavy lifting, strenuous physical activity and unnecessary facial movements in the first period.
Your journey begins with a personal consultation. Here we go through your wishes and options, so that together we can create a treatment plan that feels right for you.
